Purpose of the role
Reporting into the Head of Finance (Operations), you will have responsibility for the production of the companies management accounts, completion of statutory accounts, VA,T and liaising with the auditors at year end. As the Senior Management Accountant your role will be pivotal within the Finance Team and you will have responsibility for all aspects of financial reporting and control to deliver timely and reliable reporting for key stakeholders across the business. You will be responsible for timely delivery of monthly Management Accounts package and managing all the inputs into the ledgers, including consolidating across numerous legal entities. The role also requires advanced system knowledge and skills with handling BI Tools and large amounts of data across different sources.
Principal duties and responsibilities
- Preparation of the monthly Management Accounts to strict deadlines, including supporting analysis and investigation into variances.
- Reconciliation of key Balance Sheet accounts.
- Aiding in Cashflow management including forecasting.
- Produce accurate KPIs for Head of Finance (Operations), utilise automation and BI tools.
- Quarterly VAT returns.
- Complete statutory accounts for the Group, and related returns.
- Key contact for all audit requirements.
- Assisting executives with ad-hoc tasks.
- Analysing company budgets to assist the FP&A Leader and reviewing cost-reduction strategies.
- Preparing financial reports on a monthly and yearly basis and in accordance with UK Gap.
- Treasury management & overall Banking relationships.
- Payroll and Payroll related matters.
- Continuous development and improvements on the financial processes in order to support all above activities.
Skills and experience (E: essential, D: desirable)
- At least 2-5 years’ experience within a management accountant position (E).
- Commercially orientated (E).
- Qualified or Part-Qualified Accountant/Accounting Technician or Degree Business Graduate (E).
- Understanding of the pharmaceutical/Healthcare market or FMCG/product based (E).
- Exposure to Private Equity / stand-alone SME business (E).
- Advanced Excel capability (E).
- Use of SAP (ECC6 or By Design) (D).
- Have a numerical and analytical aptitude (E).
- Demonstrate excellent attention to detail (E).
- Demonstrate initiative and proactive attitude (E).
Education and qualifications
- Pharmaceutical / FMCG industry experience (E).
- Qualified Accountant (including Part Qualified.) – ACCA / CIMA Preferred (E).
- University degree or graduate.
