Main Duties

  1. Assist in sales activities, including managing property listings, client inquiries, and scheduling viewings.
  2. Maintain a pipeline of potential buyers and tenants, and follow up on leads.
  3. Provide excellent customer service to both clients and colleagues.
  4. Perform general administrative tasks, including managing phone calls, emails, and filing.
  5. Support the sales team by preparing marketing materials and updating client databases.
  6. Handle property documentation and contracts, ensuring all paperwork is accurate and timely.
  7. Assist with organizing events, meetings, and appointments as needed.

Qualifications

  1. Experience in sales or an administrative role (experience in real estate is a plus but not mandatory).
  2. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  3. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  4. Excellent organizational skills and the ability to multitask.
  5. Self-motivated with a proactive approach to tasks.
  6. Ability to work effectively in a team environment as well as independently.
  7. Willingness to learn and grow within the role.

Role Responsibility

We are currently looking for part time Customer Service and Sales Advisors for:

  • Maidstone: 06.00am – 13.12pm Job share
  • Harrietsham: 06.00am – 11.00am Monday to Friday
  • Borough Green: 13.00pm – 18.15pm Monday to Friday
  • Rochester: shift times will include a variety of shifts starting as early as 06.00 and finishing as late as 20.00 and will include Saturdays
  • Newington: 06.00am – 10.30am Monday to Friday shifts

What you’ll do

Help make every journey through our station an enjoyable one. This means providing top-notch customer service, always following safety protocols, and making our stations clean, welcoming spaces to be in.

Our Station teams are made up of a variety of roles. These include positions on our platforms and gatelines as well as in our ticket offices. We also have team members who provide general support across a few stations (this often requires a full driving licence). And on our high-speed services, we have Passenger Hosts.

Depending on your role, you may spend your time:

  • making sure trains are dispatched safely and on time from our platforms
  • inspecting tickets and helping passengers get through our gatelines
  • cleaning and tidying our stations
  • answering passenger questions and helping them get where they need to be
  • dealing with lost property
  • selling tickets and promoting activities on our railway
  • conducting regular safety and security checks.

Your shifts

  • You will work a varied shift pattern, which includes weekends, bank holidays and nights.
  • Shifts may start as early as 5.30am and some will finish after the last train has dispatched at night.
  • At certain stations, you may also spend some of your shifts working alone.

Please note, that although the role is part-time, your training will be full time and will last approximately 5 weeks.

The experience you’ll need

You don’t need railway experience to do this role. We’re looking for people from all backgrounds to join our team.

All you need is:

  • a passion for making every passenger journey the best it can be
  • excellent people and communication skills
  • some customer service experience
  • a proactive and positive attitude
  • the ability to work well in a team
  • the ability to handle challenging situations well.

Given the start and end times of shifts, it’s also best to have your own transport to get to and from your place of work.
