Are you a proactive and organised individual with a passion for programme management? Are you looking for an exciting opportunity to be at the forefront of driving innovative research?

The Centre for the Study of Corruption is recruiting a full-time post with two component parts, which could be split out into two separate job-share roles if preferred and if suitable candidates present themselves. The two parts to the role are:

1. GI ACE Programme Officer, 0.6 FTE.

2. CSC Programme Officer, 0.4 FTE.

1. GI ACE Programme Officer

The GI ACE programme team is a £4m FCDO-funded project that aims, through targeted research, to improve the global evidence base on which anti-corruption policies are based. We are recruiting a talented and motivated Programme Officer to support the programme’s implementation.

You will join a small team of academics and support staff and play a crucial role in supporting the planning, execution, and successful delivery of an ambitious cohort of research grants in the specialised field of corruption studies. This is an administrative and coordinating role that will support the overall implementation of the GI ACE programme including the efficient and robust delivery of research grants; collecting data from grantees through high-quality reporting; and planning and organising programme events.

In addition to joining GI ACE, you will benefit from a welcoming and friendly team atmosphere, working with professional services and academic colleagues in the School of Law, Politics and Sociology, the Centre for the Study of Corruption, and the wider Sussex community.

2.CSC Programme Officer

The Centre for the Study of Corruption is a small world-leading research centre based in the Department of Politics. It hosts the GI ACE programme and also undertakes a number of other research projects and external events, as well as running two MA courses in corruption analysis.

Reporting to the CSC Director, Prof Liz David-Barrett, this role will play both an internal and external function. Internally, you will help with the CSC’s admin and coordination. Externally, you will help to promote the CSC and the MA courses, and also play an important outreach role with regard to civil society. Working with the CSC faculty, you will help draw up a plan for how best to disseminate CSC’s research findings (including those of GI ACE) to external partners, including civil society, who will be best placed to use such research for policy making, advocacy or campaigning. You will also, with the CSC faculty, maintain an overview of current developments in corruption research to help CSC act as a bridge between the academic and non-academic communities.

Please contact Robert Barrington ([email protected]) for informal enquiries.

The University of Sussex values the diversity of its staff and students and we welcome applicants from all backgrounds.

Please note: The University requires that work undertaken for the University is performed from the UK.
