Job summary
To be responsible for the effective Management of Logistics Services at the Warehouse Distribution centre in relation to the Storage & movement of IT equipment and Medical records from source to all areas of the site. Ensuring that services are managed professionally and effectively by researching and implementing new techniques and equipment, organising work schedules and manpower, developing new work models and training staff to carry out their duties whilst managing their personal development to achieve standards as required by national and trust guidelines. Undertake lead responsibility as a member of the Logistics Service team as agreed with the Deputy Head of Warehouse and Logistics and in new developments, projects and other objectives relating to the Logistics service.Merlin Park will also be accommodating a full service to our community teams starting in January 2026, approx. 550 delivery points for NHSSC stock this could vary the opening times of the operation in the future which could lead to shift working and possible weekend working.As a member of the Logistics Service Management team the post holder will have day to day management responsibility for the delivery of the Logistics service that will include any urgent requests.
Main duties, tasks & skills required
Monitoring of all operations within Merlin Park to ensure service levels are achieved and daily objectives and targets are met.
To demonstrate strong effective communication skills.
Monitor and lead all Warehouse and Logistics Staff in duties by having a proven
Background with these skills.
Provide Senior Management support when required across sites.
Post holder will be required to represent Merlin Park during internal meetings.
To motivate the team and show leadership in line with the trust values and behavioural framework.
To have a level of responsibility for the control of the INVAR WMS which will be the main system within Merlin Park to control movement of medical r4ecords and IT equipment.
To be managerially responsible for ensuring the direct, timely and efficient delivery of goods/products to all areas of the Trust.
