Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Fabricator to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for constructing, assembling, and repairing metal components using various fabrication techniques. This role offers an excellent opportunity to utilise your welding expertise and mechanical knowledge in a dynamic environment. The Fabricator will play a vital part in ensuring the quality and precision of our products, contributing to the overall efficiency of our operations.

Duties

1. Metal Fabrication & Assembly

a. Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and CAD designs to fabricate components to exact specifications.

b. Cut, shape, and form sheet metal using plasma cutters, guillotines, press brakes, and rollers.

c. Weld and join metal components using MIG/TIG (stainless steel preferred) and spot welding techniques.

d. Assemble fabricated parts into finished products (e.g., commercial kitchen extract hoods, steel gates, cladding panels).

e. Conduct quality checks on finished products to ensure they meet fire safety, and hygiene standards.

2. Installation & On-Site Work

a. Install fabricated steelwork at client sites, including industrial shutters, sliding gates, and structural frameworks.

b. Take precise measurements on-site to ensure accurate fit and compliance with design specifications.

c. Work alongside engineers and project managers to troubleshoot and adjust installations as needed.

3. Workshop & Equipment Maintenance

a. Operate and maintain workshop machinery (e.g., Durma press brakes, Amada laser cutters, welding stations).

b. Follow strict health & safety protocols (COSHH, PPE, risk assessments) to ensure a safe working environment.

c. Keep accurate records of materials used, work completed, and time spent on projects.

4. Client & Team Communication

a. Liaise with clients (where required) to explain fabrication processes and installation steps.

b. Work collaboratively with other fabricators, welders, and apprentices to ensure efficient workflow

Required Qualifications:

Fabrication & Welding Engineering or Mechanical or Project Engineering (or equivalent RQF 6+ recognized qualification). NARIC-certified equivalent (if qualifications are from outside the UK).

Technical Experience:

Minimum 1 years of hands-on experience in sheet metal fabrication work (UK experience preferred but not mandatory).

Language & Communication:

1. English language proficiency

2. Punjabi, Hindi, or Gujarati fluency (desirable) – For client communication in our key markets.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: £12.32-£17.32 per hour

Expected hours: 42 per week
