We are hiring a Cloud Engineer (GCP) to join our client based in Manchester. The company is in developing cutting-edge AI solutions by leveraging algorithms and machine learning models to enhance image recognition, analysis, and real-time processing capabilities.

As a Cloud Engineer, you will be using industry-standard tools like Python, GCP (or other cloud platforms), Docker and working with Machine Learning Researchers and Engineers, you will manage machine learning model deployment, streamline the ML pipelines and scale the ML platform to support a growing number of customer engagements. This will involve setting up systems where software, ML experiments and models are tested and reliable.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

  • Create cloud infrastructure based on the architecture. For example: Create a VM with start-up scripts, Develop Cloud Function/Lambda.
  • Make sure that using the ML platform makes training and deploying ML models convenient for the researchers using industry-standard tools (e.g. GitHub, Docker, Bash)
  • Build and maintain end-to-end cloud pipeline infrastructure focusing on scalability, usability, reproducibility and performance.
  • Assure best-practices for building, testing, and releasing software.
  • Improve current model tracking, versioning, monitoring, and management parts.
  • Work with system administrator to ensure stability and reliability of the ML platform
  • Identifying infrastructure needs and translating them into action.

Essential Requirements:

  • BSc or MS degree in Computer Science, Computer Architecture or related technical field, or equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years of work experience in cloud development and deployment.
  • Highly skilled and experienced with cloud services, preferably GCP
  • Experience with containerisation technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes (GKE).
  • Experience with server-less programming and event-driven architecture
  • Excellent Bash and Python programming skills.
  • Good communication and documentation habits.
  • Strong understanding of software testing and DevOps principles
  • Experience in designing and implementing CI/CD pipelines using the tools like GitHub actions and GCP Cloud build.
  • Strong experience in setting up, maintaining, and automating continuous integration systems.

Great to have (Optional):

  • Experience productionising ML models.
  • Basic understanding of fundamental ML concepts like model parameters, metrics, biases, and datasets.
  • Experience with distributed systems.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: £50,000.00-£55,000.00 per year
