We’re seeking a highly skilled and experienced Data Scientist to join our team. This role involves leveraging data science techniques to design, develop, and implement machine learning models and algorithms that solve real-world business problems. Key Responsibilities:
– Demonstrate broad knowledge of data science techniques, use cases, and their potential impact, as well as the tools and technologies that enable them.
– Scope, design, and deliver data science outputs and products that align with organizational objectives.
– Collaborate with experts from various fields to support organizational goals and deliver impactful solutions.
– Communicate effectively, challenge delivery plans and priorities, and provide actionable insights for management, operational efficiency, and other key business performance metrics.
– Ensure data ethics, preparation, and manipulation are integral to all data science projects.
– Develop and implement machine learning models and algorithms to address complex business challenges.
– Hands-on coding experience in R or Python, with strong familiarity with numpy, scipy, pandas, and data visualization tools.
– Apply techniques such as exploratory data analysis (EDA), model development, and evaluation.
– Work with traditional RDBMS as well as distributed datasets, and demonstrate strong SQL skills.
– Design and develop cloud-based data pipelines, ensuring the architecture supports scalable and reliable data solutions.
Essential Skills and Experience:
– Degree or equivalent in a relevant subject, such as Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related technical discipline.
– Minimum of 7 years of experience in data science, with demonstrable expertise in machine learning, model development, and data manipulation.
– Proficiency in Python or R, with a solid understanding of programming paradigms and data engineering concepts.
– Strong knowledge of SQL and experience working with both relational and non-relational data stores.
– Experience in cloud-based data pipelines, architectures, and handling large datasets.
– Evidence of delivering actionable insights and tangible results through data science projects.
– Good written and verbal communication skills, with a strong desire to work in cross-functional teams.
– A professional attitude, with the ability to think creatively and solve complex challenges.
– Awareness of data security best practices and GDPR compliance related to personal data.
– Experience working in an agile environment or organizations with an agile culture.
Desirable Skills:
– Understanding of design choices for data storage and data processing, particularly with a focus on cloud data services.
– Familiarity with technologies such as Apache Spark or Airflow is beneficial but not mandatory.
– Experience with parallel computing to process large datasets and optimize computationally intensive tasks is advantageous but not mandatory.

Pay: £40,307.00-£60,681.00 per year
