Overview
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Purchasing Manager to oversee our procurement operations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the purchasing process, ensuring the timely acquisition of goods and services while optimising costs and maintaining quality standards. This role requires a strong understanding of supply chain management, logistics, and negotiation skills, along with proficiency in ERP systems such as Order Wise and Odoo.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement purchasing strategies that align with company goals.
- Manage supplier relationships to ensure quality, delivery, and cost-effectiveness.
- Negotiate contracts and agreements with suppliers to secure favourable terms.
- Monitor market trends and supplier performance to identify opportunities for improvement.
- Collaborate with internal departments to forecast demand and ensure adequate inventory levels.
- Analyse purchasing data to identify cost-saving opportunities and improve efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures in all procurement activities.
- Train administrative staff to assist with the role
Experience
- Proven experience as a Purchasing Manager or in a similar role within supply chain management.
- Strong knowledge of ERP systems
- Demonstrated negotiation skills with a track record of successful contract management.
- Experience in logistics and supply chain operations is highly desirable.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret data effectively.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to build relationships at all levels.
